The Process: Simpson to Holiday Inn (per COVID-19)
« on: April 24, 2020, 12:48:08 pm »
On March 18th, because of the Corona Virus (it's actually 2 words) or CORVID-19 Pandemic, Hennepin County took over the Holiday Inn in Bloomington to provide a "Shelter in Place" location for those staying in the Minneapolis/Hennepin County shelter system.  Being 61 yrs old, I, of course, took the opportunity.  The transition was like night and day.

From an environment where there is almost no privacy, little to no boundaries, and deep addiction sickness to all the privacy I need, and all the personal boundaries and sanity I want.  Again, of course I took the opportunity.  And, still there's the serious challenge of the stigma, dealing with the chronic problem of condescension from Hennepin County staff.  And then, there's the loneliness, and cabin-fever, which is a very real thing!
